Welcome Joe. I like my Razortip, but most brand name burners should do you okay. Thing I like about the Razortip dual, is it's convienient to increase/decrease heat, change tips, switch from pen to pen and back again. Has a nice wide variety of tip shapes, though I use the same three mostly.

Good luck with whatever you purchase, and have lots of fun with it.

Bob

OJ,
There a varity of burners out there and of opinions also.
Several here on the board have either the Razortip or colwood. I have neither, I have a cheap setup called Dail-A-Temp as I don't do a lot of wood burning. Now, This Dail_A-Temp uses a regulator that you can plug in to electric and plug in the standard craft burners but can regulate the heat from low to High with different degrees in between. Nothing to burning fine burnings like feathers but a quick burner.

Joe,
I have the same one as Bob and am thoroughly happy with it. Someone on here sells them. I've forgotten who.
Good luck! You're going to love this hobby!

Did I hear my name called????

Yes, I sell Razertip...great burner, you can't go wrong. And yes, Cam really stands behind his burners with great customer service!!!

Oh and Joe, I suggest you look at my tutorial on Razertip pens. Go to my website http://nedraspyrography.com and go to Pyrography 101 tutorials. There is one for Razertip pens. It describes them, their uses, etc. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me.

My absolute favorite pen is the HD5MP and I use it for 99% of my work!!!!

Enjoy

Nedra
