Default Stylized Deer

12"x11"x1" Basswood slab with Bark on edges. Burned with a 1/8" ball, stipple effect. After burning went around outside edge with a small Gouge to give a raised effect. Sanded smoth and a coat of BLO and then Feed-n-Wax. Comments are always welcome. Merle

Reminds me of some of the paleolithic rock carvings in the Southwest. Nicely done!

That's good. I like both the face and the repeating curve of the antlers. Good size, too.
Do more like that: mule deer, elk, moose!

Hi Al, Glad you like my Deer. It's not one of my most liked pieces around here. The oldest Daughter likes it so it is going to be hers. Thanks for commenting Al, it's appreciated. Merle

Hi Robert, I guess that's the intriguing thing about it. It catches your eye. My Daughter didn't like it at first and then she liked it. It's different I guess. Thanks for commenting Robert. Merle

Merle, I really like it! Looks like you went outside your box-style, tried something different!
I'd like to see you do more on these lines too!
