Hi Greg,

Nice job! for you - what type of burner are you using? Pyrography doesn't fade like paint and if you use wax to seal the wood it should remain in good shape. I like to use clear Briwax. I find that it brings out the colour of the wood and warms the entire work. If you like there are some tinted Briwaxes as well which can give your work a whole different look.

I'm looking forward to seeing your next project. So are you hooked yet?

Lindy

Thanks for the kind words. I am using a Razortip burner. Thanks for the tip on the wax sounds like a good idea!

I do enjoy pyro, I am sure I will do more in the near future :>)

Hi Greg, sorry I'm late responding. It's been a busy time packing, etc for our move.

It turned out great and I'm so glad you like the new pens.

One thing I tell people is to make sure when they display their burnings not to put it near a window, flourescent lights or direct sunlight. It will preserve the burning.

Some things that help prevent fading: burn darker than you want it when it's finished and burn in layers to darken rather than cranking up the temperature to burn dark in one shot. Some people have a tendency to burn light and the burnings end up fading faster (I found this out the hard way when I first started burning). While it looks nice and soft, it also fades faster. Burning in layers and dark helps prevent fading.

Hi Greg, nice to see this one finished. You had a lot to deal with figure, deer, truck and landscape and you handle them all well. What's next?
