Hi All Just got my Colwood Woodburner with heavy duty cord and one fixed pen. I haven't used it YET ~ waiting to here/see posts of what you guys & gals got to TEACH me about this wonderful craft. Can you clear this note I read somewhere (don't ask me where, at times I don't even know where I live . . . lol ) Seriously, the article said, " . . . before using your new pen, heat it up as high as you can and let it cool down naturally. " I'm paraphasing here. But did you guys/gal ever hear about that procedure ? Does it have something to do with strengthening the steel polished pen tip ? O.K. that's if 4 me. I wait all your replies please. P.S. from what I've been reading I really don't need a whole bunch of fix tip pens ~ True or False ? THANKS

Hi Jock! Nice clean burnings. I am especially partial to the TR3A, since I have one just like it. Mines a 1959...OH! not the burning, but a real one. Tom H |
