I didn't want to clutter Susans thread with my rantings so this is posted here to express my gratitude for the trouble she has gone to. I even broke down and ordered a "real" wood burner for the occasion. I should have it in a day or so. Thanks a bunch Susan! I don't know where you find the energy.

Well, as Elwood has provided a thread for the chat on this winter bird house burning I believe that I will use it.

I got the prep work done and then went on to burn a tonal value scale. About 5:30PM one of our house cats, Pepper, stopped by the work table to tell me it was time to put my pens aside and go feed her ...

So, tomorrow, I promise, we will start the burning.

Hi Susan, what a neat picture our pet pals sure have a way of letting us know it's time for them to eat.
I remember the small value scale you helped me put together. I think other's would benefit by creating one for themselves too.

Oh I'm glad! It makes it so much easier to find. I have trouble following when the conversation wanders (and I'm probably the biggest culprit here).
I've been going back over previous tutorials and conversations, getting "boned up" so that I'll be ready when my burner arrives. There is one on dragons that I'd like to do if I could ever find it but the search function and I are at a standoff.
When I do finally get started I will post my pictures here as I doubt my scribbles will contribute much except as an example of what to avoid. LOL

My doggie K.T (short for Kathy.Terry) loves to get in my way too. LOL My hubby Terry has been out in the shop/garage making oak game boards so she has been really happy.
