| | Oriental Dragons - Ryu It's been raining cats and dogs down here in central Florida, in fact, we've had a low sitting right off the coast for the past three days that has brought between 6-8 inches of rain in some areas. As such I've had plenty of time to work on some more belt hangers to hand out to the kids at the dojo.
This time I decided to get a little fancy and do some Oriental Dragons which are always a big hit.
Each hanger is 1" x 8" x 12" pine, with the outline woodburned, then colored in with acrylics, and finished with two coats of water based poly. As before a finished birch button, plastic anchor and 2" wood screw are included in a small plastic bag attached to the back of the hanger to facilitate installation.

Those are really well done. I'm amazed at the amount of time you spend on those "belt hangers" for the kids at your dojo. I'm sure they really appreciate them. |

| | Re: Oriental Dragons - Ryu Thank you one and all! Ron... A lot of work does go in to them but it's all about giving back and when you approach it that way it doesn't seem like all that much!

| | Re: Oriental Dragons - Ryu Eddy,
What discipline do you exercise at your dojo? My son is a high brown belt in Tae Kwon Do. He will be testing tomorrow for his red belt, then the black belt is the next full belt promotion. My son loves the art of Tawe Kwon Do.
Thanks,
Dan

| | Re: Oriental Dragons - Ryu Dan... My sincere congratulations to your son. I hope that in reaching his Black Belt it signals the begining of many years of training and not just simply the attainment of a goal. I see too many youngsters walk away once they get their Black belt and lose all that they've earned and gained. Myself, I've been studying Okinawan Matsumura-Seito Shorin-Ryu for nearly 25-years. And even at my age I still maintain a presence at the dojo. Nedra... Thank you! It always means something coming from you. By the way, have a great vacation!

| | Re: Oriental Dragons - Ryu Thanks Eddy, long overdue. Finally got our motorhome fixed so we can drive it safely/comfortably. We are vegging in Colorado mountains with some friends....but I am taking two woodburnings just in case I can't handle all the vegging.
I'm not one for sitting around doing nothing so this should be interesting The resort has activities and we will be doing some walking and hiking but I was told there isn't much life outside the RV resort so I might be catching up on burning and reading.
