Default newbie help with staining?

i just finished burning a basswood box.i think id like to stain it.does anyone have a pic of what stain looks like on basswood?thanks

Hi Gina,

If you go to my website into Galleries and then into the Flat Work you will find a few pieces in there showing basswood stained. I use gel stain and then wax it once the stain is dry. Other times I will use a tinted stain such as Briwax instead of stain and I quite like the effect.

How about posting a picture of your project? We would all love to see it!

Gina if you go to my website and look in the chip carving gallery you will see all my chip carvings on basswood. All are stained. Unless you use a very light stain you will not see much of a burning if you stain it.
