Default New Forum

Hi everyone,
We just mailed out our new Pyrography edition of WCI--so I thought I'd start a Pyrography and Woodburning Forum to coincide with it. Alfie Fishgap has agreed to be the moderator for this forum!

He he he he....LOL! And I remember the discussion that we all had at length when we first switched over from the old forum to the present one, re: what we needed for catagories! Not complaining or making fun, just remembering the discussion! Keep up the good work Bob and pass the thanks on to your team there.

I remember that too--wern't we going to consolidate some of the forums...<Grin>

I like it now, though. When I need to find something, I can usually get there with just a few clicks!

Thumbs up Re: New Forum

Thanks for giving woodburning its own special place and something that I want to learn more about since it is the perfect compliment to woodcarving.

Now just maybe I can begin to make more sense out of my Detail Master that I've have 'bout a year now!

Thanks for giving Pyrography its own special place. This is something that was requested before the forum was updated and its good to see that it has happened.
I'm a carver but the wife is a pyrographer and has little to no interest in carving. Now that her medium is recognized, she feels more welcome.
Also, she ran off with the pryrography issue of WCI. I might have to get another from the newstand.
Thanks again,
KettleKarver

Don't know about his wife....but I thought it was super! Even had my own wife having a peek. It's going to cost me though, I already ordered new pens for my Razortip, so I can apply what I've learned. Began a burning on a box and it's looking good, just need a different tip and I can finish.

Alfie, the reversed fan worked great! Lowered it and brought it closer and it is drawing the fumes away in fine style. No more nausia after burning.

So many things to try, so little time!

Bob:
The wife loved the Pyrography edition of WCI. It will certainly be a reference in her library.
She was fortunate enough to attend Sue Walters' classes in Kitchener, Ontario last year so many of the photos were quite familiar and reniforced her lessons. We preordered Sue's Pyrography Wookbook and are hoping it arrives soon.
Keep up the good work. We look forward to receiving every issue of WCI.

This is a little late, but I was very happy to see the wonderful pyrography articles in the last WCI. It's about time that Pyrography got some attention. I've also seen a big increase in the number of pyrographers at woodcarving shows in the last 6 years and it's great. Baby
I hope that Fox Chapel continues having regular articles on pyrography in the magazine. There's a lot of people out there getting interested and it would be nice to have more information available to them.

hi everyone , do not post often ,but the new magizine about pyro was great.

i have been doing pyrograhy for over 30 yrs. and enjoy doing it. i do animal portaits and wolves and wild life mostly.

and you all are right, it is time for pyro work to be recoginzed as art and not just a craft. there are a lot of us that do not use someone elses pattern for their work.

thanks wci for the info.
