Default New Christmas Card - Susan's Patter

I've just finished another Christmas card. I bought 3 of Susan's Christmas packages and this is one of her patterns. I only have another kzillion to go, but hey I'll get there!

Thanks for looking.

What a lovely card Lindy, you did a great job. I guess you better crack the whip too.

Are you scanning them into the computer and printing out the cards? I hadn't thought about it but what a great idea instead of buying ready-made cards.

Thanks Nedra,

That's the plan - I'll do maybe six originals, scan and send out the prints so most people. The originals will go to very close friends or family members.

I just finished a Santa which I'll scan later and post here.

Great idea. I had planned to do that a few years ago but then was so busy with working full time it just didn't happen.

One day I'll actually find some time and work up some designs. Now that I'm in New Mexico I guess they will be southwestern holiday cards.

Just beautiful!

When you go to print them you might try printing on light weight watercolor paper or pastel paper. I really like Stratmore's Stonehenge line. It's 120lb, I believe but check the info first ... it is slightly heavier then card stock. The grain is good so it folds wonderfully without buckling. Stonehenge comes in a lot of color tones ... white, off white, cream, fawn, gray and black ... so you have some background choices.

I buy mine at Dick Blick or Jerry's Artarama. Both are on the web.

A lot of art papers have deckled edges as well which gives an extra touch to your printed cards.

Don't forget to pencil sign the printed card as well

Susan

Lindy,
Beautiful burning, great idea - I am tired of all those colourful boxed cards, this is really wonderful.

Lindy... Beautiful job. I'm watercoloring painting our Chriatmas cards but the way things are going it may be next Christmas before I finish them all.
