Thanks everyone for your kind comments. I'm glad you enjoyed it also. Sharon - you will be. The most important thing is that you relax and have fun with it. The rest will come, develop on it's own. Skidmore - Forrest that's the nicest comment you could give me. Shading is my most favorite technique but has been the hardest for me to implement. I'm still learning it and trying to master it. But it has come along ways from the beginning.newbie2552 - I will be posting some more at the end of the week. We are having a three day seminar this week with Dannie (Dannette) Smith, Dangee, at our club. I can say the same for you also. Can't wait to see your next project. Please keep us updated. wildhare - finding time to burn is the hardest part. Especially cause once I start I don't want to stop. I love detail, even though it is more of a challenge in the smaller pieces can't do without it. I use the Optima 1 dual unit and tips. I do most of my work with the bent spear shader (micro). I also use the 1/16 ball tip and the hair pen. But I'd have to say that probably 95% of mine is done with the shader. Even thought I love my Optima burning unit I think any of the major burning units themselves would suffice but I have to have my Optima pens. There is no comparisons to their pens. Have to have my Optima pens best quality and priced pens that I have found, tried. That is in my experience and humble opinion only. I know there is others that have their own that is just mine. Would recommend them to anyone. Can't wait to see what you have when you get time to play. Please make sure you share it with us when you do. No matter what you think it looks like we are usually our own worse critic. lol If it is anything like your carving you will be a natural.Again thanks; feb, kathy, sharon, forrest, newbie, wanda, ken, and curt. Hope you have a wonderfully creative day! Blessings, Tina aka teeburn

Tina, great job. You've come a long way with the shading. It takes a lot of patience and practice to master it but it looks like you're doing quite well. I'm sure it won't be long before you're able to do portraits. Pushing yourself past your comfort zone is a good thing and it helps you to grow and improve. I can see a lot of growth in your burning since you started and you are definately gaining control of the smooth shading. Nedra
