Default My latest piece

I haven't posted anything for quite a while so I thought I would post my latest piece. My Mom loves butterflies and I've gotten her so many that I enjoy them to now and collect them. They also happen to be one of my favorite subjects to burn. I hope you enjoy it too. Thanks for letting me share.

MA, burning and carving is not the same as playing with matches and knives.

Thank you, Feb. It is about 5 1/2 or 5 3/4 square. I know not a big piece. I do a lot of small pieces. I like the smaller pieces. I don't mind bigger pieces I just favor the smaller ones.

Hi, Kathy. Thank you for your nice comment and for the birthday wish that was very sweet. It was really fun to do. I've been practicing on my smooth shading so I can move on out of my comfort zone and to start trying portraits, well people in general. Trying to get away from the dreaded blotchies. I naturally have a heavy hand so I have to watch myself, not good when trying to shade with that technique. I have enjoyed all your work including your woodburning off course.

Wow Tina I was in awe before you said it was 5 1/2 inches. That is a lot of detail. What kind of burner and tips are you using? I am still just doing outlines on my carvings with the burner but am hoping to have time to play a bit more with it.
