| | My First WIP After being all excited about getting my Colwood, I finally got the chance to start a project with it. Now I need to go practice shading so I can finish it.
Thanks for looking and all comments are welcomed and appreciated.

| | Re: My First WIP Hello Dick,
Great start to a first project. Is this from a picture or template or did you draw it? It looks very difficult for a first.
I, too, just got into burning but other enhancing some of my sticks with designs, haven't done too much. I still like carving too much and as long as I'm able I prefer that. Still, burning is a great fall back for me. |

| | Re: My First WIP Hi Dick, looks good, just remember when shading start out on low temp, you can always increase the heat.
Keep going you are doing great!

Great first attempt. Like Kathy said...start out with a low temp when you begin to shade. Shade in layers until you reach the value you want. What kind of wood is this on? |

| | Re: My First WIP Thanks everyone for the nice comments.
The owl was traced from a copy out of a book and I am using curly cherry for the wood.
Thanks allot for the tips on shading.
