Previously I'd made and posted some belt hangers to be handed out as awards for the student "STAR" program at our karate school. While on vacation I had time to start on a couple more and I just got them finished this weekend. The pictures are first wood burned and then back painted with acrylics. The entire project is finished with two coats of water based gloss polyurethane. I like to leave the background natural bringing out the beauty of the grain. The hangers serve a dual purpose in that they also teach the students to take care of their uniforms and hard earned belts. On the back of each hanger I attach a small plastic bag with a finished wood button to cover the mounting screw, a screw and a plastic anchor. Knowing how difficult it is for some parents these days I try to make it as easy as possible for them to hang it for the student. Also on the back of the hanger is a description of what the picture represents and if applicable the terminology for it.

| Hi Eddy, I so like that idea and still think this one of the best ideas I've heard to recognize a student's success. Sorry I've not been here all the time - the truck arrives on Monday to move us to the Sunshine coast and I've been a little busy packing and making all the arrangements for services out there. I do peek in now and then but have not had the time to do a lot of posting. Eddy keep up the inspirational work. Lindy |

Eddy, what a neat idea. I know the students are proud of their accomplishments and then to have a way to display the belt is a great idea. Nice Job.

Catbird... Thanks! They seem to really go over in a big way and I get to give back to the dojo if only in a small way.

Thanks Nedra... I'm working on a couple of Oriental Dragon hangers this weekend that I'll post after I get them assembled and finished.
