Default A "how to do" question

Hi,
I feel certain that a lot of you recieve "Chip-Chats". Well on page 29 of the March-April 2007 issue there is a wood burning by Linda Sales. I have tried to reach her by e-mail, and not gotten an answer to my question/s. So I will ask in here, thanks for your help .
I am not to concerned about the burning part,,,,but would like help in the """""frame"""" part. In the picture it is hard for me to tell if the frame is beveled where it mets the picture. "If" it was not beveled, would you burn that small edge? My guess,,, is that you lay the pattern over the entire work,,,,both the back and the frame, yes/ no? I am presently doing a lot of my burning on aspen plywood, would aspen lumber work for the frame? Also any ideas as to how the back is fastened to the frame?
Thanks for any help and suggesttions, ddt

Sorry, can't help you out on the piece from Chip Chats.....don't get it. but aspen should work very well for the frame. It is very stable when cured and easy to work with. A bit harder than basswood. When ripping or cutting your bevels, I'd suggest using either a 90 tooth blade, or good plywood cutting blade to avoid tear-out on the ends.
