Eddy, thanks for the info. It's nice to know that Colwood now makes heavy duty cords. I suspect they were responding to many complaints about hot pens over the years. I don't know whether they make them now with heavy duty or still with standard and you have to buy the replacement cords but at least they have them.

Many of their burners have the plug in type cord but I believe the Detailer still has the prongs that you put around a screw and tighten the screw. Either way, they are pretty easy to replace and a lot cheaper than replacing the burner.

The Razertip cords are: standard is 18-gauge for flexibility and heavy-duty cords are 16-gauge for maximum current flow so you might want to double check on the Colwood because I suspect they come with the 18 gauge and the 16 and 14 are heavier duty but I could be wrong on that part. I'm not sure if their 14 gauge is going to be flexible enough but you might want to check further on that.
