My grandson just earned his Blue Belt last Friday and asked me to make him a belt display rack for his old belts. A commercially available rack ordered through Century Martial Arts or AWMA will cost between $25.00 and $100.00 depending on how fancy it is but none of those come personalized. This project costs a little under $10.00. The basswood plaque was purchased at Michaels for half price using a sale coupon... the wire ties were on sale at Harbor Freight... and the split rings, cup hooks, and picture hangers I bought at Wal-Mart. I developed the design using Microsoft Publisher, transfered it on to the plaque using graphic paper, and then woodburned it. It's painted with acrylics and finished with MinWax Clear Satin Polyurethane. The belts are held together with the wire ties and split rings and hang from the plaque by two open cup hooks. Two large saw-tooth picture hangers are mounted on the back of the plaque. Additional belts can be added simply by weaving additional wire ties around the new belt and adding two additional split rings.

Hi Eddy, What a great gift to give and receive. I think I'd rather be on the receiving end here. Excellent job painting and finishing. The wood looks like satin.

| Dan... I've been in the martial arts for over 25-years so I'm fully aware of it's benefits but I can tell you it has really helped my grandson who struggles with ADD. It's done wonders for his focus and concentration. It's too bad that the school systems can't afford a martial arts program for their ADD and ADH afflicted children.

| Dave.... Thanks! Yes I am. Hopefully he'll stay with it and in about 6-7 years I'll be able to attend his Black Belt test.
