| | cedar plaque I had a gentleman who supplies me with red cedar for my wood carving ask if I would make a sign out of wood taken from his ranch.
The brand and the outlines for the letters were burned with a home made pyrography pen and letters were filled with gold water color.

| | Re: cedar plaque It is a small one (20"). I shaped it with and angle grider and sand by hand with the foam backed stuff. It was already starting to split as I was doing the finish sand, so I gave it a coat of DEFT before I did the burning and painting. Not really ideal condition for wood burning. It's harder to control the tip and difficult to cleanup strays afterward

| | Re: cedar plaque That must have taken quite awhile. That type style is pretty complicated and so perfectly spaced! Good job.

| | Re: cedar plaque Thankyou all,
Thor, I used one of the fonts in paint, selecting a size that would fit on the plaque then stretching it to suit me. I used a compas point to "ponce" the outlines and filled with talc to make it stand out for burning. About 45 minutes for design and layout in all
