Default #4 - Otter

Thanks everyone for your comments and encouragement. This is #4 - an Otter sitting on a log.

I used a Basswod Plaque and what kinda cool is that there is still moss on the left hand side which I left in place. The piece, like most of my burnings is waxed with Brewax clear.

As always opinions and comments welcome.

Thanks
Linda

Wow, that is really great. I love the fur, you should really be proud of that burning.

Very nice job Lindy but I might suggest some variation of tonal values in the fur. I haven't seen the photo but Im sure there are light, med and dark tones in the fur that are not showing up in the burning to create more texture and depth. Perhaps lighten the lights a bit more and darken the darks and leave some midtones. Perhaps some highlights in the face, etc.

Thanks everyone. This pattern was created from a black & white photograph that was rather dark, but I loved that lazy look so much that I had to try it.

Very nice. I've yet to reach that level of wood burning. I just don't havce the patience to make all those strokes! I sure wont let my wife see this once. She's an otter fan and I know that she'd want one herself.
