Default Susan Irish Question

Mrs. Irish:

I always liked to carved wood, but just for about a year i started to buy tools, books and a lot of other gear. I was wondering if you have the number pattern of Green Men book of yours (the front cover one) like you have on your new book Wood Spirits. I now have both but i have a lot of problems finishing Green Man. Any help will be great.

Greetings from Chile

Andres,
I know Ms. Irish is really busy right now...it may be better to e-mail her through her website, Woodcarving Patterns, Classic Carving Patterns Online, Wood Carving Designs & Patterns Online

Hi Andres,

No, the patterns in the Greenman Book do not have the leve numbers. But if you look closely at the ones in the Wood Spirit bBook you will see that there is a pattern to the numbering system. The eyes are the lowest level in the face, the cheeks and forehead are a little higher so they become the next level. The eye brows, lips and chin are just a tad higher so they are the third level. The mustache and beards come next with the nose the highest.

Open the two books side by side and I think you will see how the levels can be easily added fro the Greenman patterns.

Susan - Just passin' through.
