Default Question for Frank Foust

Hello all,
The current issue of Woodcarving Illustrated could not have come at a better time. My older brother passed away unexpectedly on Sunday. Monday evening in the mail was the current issue with the comfort birds article by Frank Foust.
I want to make a couple of these for my Sister-in-law and niece and nephew.

I have a couple blanks cut but had a question about the finishing. When the article says to rub the carving with powdered pumice and oil -- where would one get powdered pumice and what type of oil would you use?

Again, thanks WCI for such a timely article.

God bless.

Chris

Hi Chris,
Pumice and paraffin oil are both available at most places that sell finishing supplies. Here's a link to Woodcraft

Search for Woodworking Supplies at Woodcraft.com

Hi,
I love the article about the Comfort Birds. I wanted to contact Frank but my computer won't let me get into mrcarver@windstream.net. Is there another email address? Is this one correct?
Thank you,
Helen
