Not really a question;..........more of a thank you note: I recently recieved my issue # 53 of WCI and since I had a craft show comming up I decided to try this project. I had time to complete two figures so I decide to paint them each different and then would keep my eye on them to see which brought the most intrest. My plan was to see which was considered best and then in the future I could that as a guide. Well here's what happened:...........when the doors opened at 10 o'clock the first customer to reach my table looked over my display and then at the two santas and said "I take both of them". ![]() So I know they will sell, but still don't know which paint job to go with. Thank you Dave, it was a really fun carving to do Soggy |

I started carving one early this morning because I couldn't sleep and it was my second try. I had problems with the first one I tried, but this second one I am carving looks ok right now. But I find it funny that you mention it because this afternoon, I went to a little Xmas Exibit where a local wood carving club had some pieces for sale, and even if there were a few items from mags, that Arizona Santa was absent from the show... And no Santa boots either btw... So I thought I could carve a couple of these Santas and try to offer them for sale next week, if I can become a member of the club fast enough for that Until now, I only had the boots in mind. I like the look of this Arizona Stick Santa. Gilles Last edited by gtech; 12-05-2010 at 07:52 PM. Reason: corrected wrong letter... |

I'd like to add my appreciation to Dave for his Santa project. i have 3 finished and re-homed and 2 more on the go and waiting to be re-homed and several more ordered. see "Santa with a twist" in caricature carving for the most popular one for my family. Thank you Dave
