A friend and mentor Bud Emmons passed away on Ground Hog Day 2011. Bud's grandfather and father taught him how to carve intricate wooden chains and different configurations of the ball-in-box. Bud encouraged me to start carving before he passed away. Bud was a Korean War Navy veteran, retrired IBM Chief Engineer, Had a degree and PHD in electrical engineering, chaired the international committee that set up the standards for internet protocall. Friends and family will miss his humor, charity and friendship. I guess it was part of your scheme to leave on the day that exemplied your favorite movie " Ground Hog Day". I know you are still smiling.
