I met Henry at Charlotte. I got to know Henry in Townsend and had a great weekend talking and laughing with Henry, Arnold and Frank. My prayers go with his family and friends.

A kinder, truer friend could not be found. I am fortunate to have obtained one of Henry's carvings and will have that as a reminder of a great friendship. The carving community has truly lost a good soul.

Yes we did lose a very good friend, always sat around the show, and was always good for a laugh, never got tired of hearing how he came to the name "Pepperoni", that's another story. He will be truely missed, here's a picture form last years Hickory, thats AKA from the site Anthony,Arnold Smith,Pepperoni(Henry) and my self, definitely a good story going here.

i will tell the story on how henry got his nickname pepperoni actually arnold and i hung that name on him. so here it goes on friday and saturday nights arnold and pepperoni always got together and carved while the ladies visited, well one friday night they decided to go get a pizza, well arnold and pepperoni took off to go get the pizza so they go in and henry orders the pizza and the little girl behind the counter asks his last name, well henry was hard of hearing, so when the girl asked his name he said pepperoni, she said nosir your name so he says again pepperoni, well arnold was standing back and got to laughing so he finally told henry she wants your name in a voice he could understand well when he realized what she said he said Donaldson, well about 2-3 days later arnold told me the story and we hung him with pepperoni and it just stuck.

I went to the service this mourning and it was beautiful so many friends there and they all said how much he loved life and loved his friends and family, he will be missed but like the pastor said today if you have a memory of henry put it in your pocket and zip it up and never forget it, i know i wont he will be a missed good friend, God Bless you my friend,

bart

Well the news is sad and I'm so sorry for the loss to all of his friends and family. He must have been a great guy.The story that Bartster told on how he got his name, was the best. I'm truly saddened and my prayers and thoughts go to his family and friends. fred k

We would like to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers for me and Henry's family. He will be missed. We carved together about every friday and Saturday night for years. It will take me a while to get adjusted to him not being here.
