Daren, this is a total shock to me, I'm so sorry for your loss. Altho we never met, we exchanged a few emails when he was first aboard the forum, he was a little down about response to his posts but I managed to explain how this message board works and by golly he got right into it. I'm gonna miss him for sure. My condolences to you and the family.

Thank you all for your responses to my dad's passing. My 11 year old daughter and my 9 year old son were so excited to spend the summer with grandpa because he had bought them cut proof gloves and was teaching them to carve. Over christmas and another trip in March they lived in the shop with him making chips. So last night while we were talking and settling the kids concerns my daughter ask if I would learn to carve so I could teach them.. Unfortunately I never took the time to spend time learning from my dad.. sure I cut some wood and cut my fingers but I missed the opportunity of a lifetime to learn from my dad. I don't think you all have heard the last from me.. There is a huge set of tools that don't have a set of hands to use them..

I know my dad also had great plans to go visit Lynn this year and had stops planned all the way along his route.. I beleive the plan was to travel all the way to Ohio and every state in between.

Thanks for all your support

Darin

Darin, do come in here and learn to carve too! Folks in here (wci) will teach you! And you will have dads guiding hand with you I'm sure..

What a very special thing for your children to ask of you. Precious.

Marcia.
