Default Joe Wooster has passed away

While I never met Joe Wooster, he was very influential with some of the early master birdcarvers, as well as Mid America carvers. The following information is taken from decoycarvingforum.com

"Just had a call from Joe's Daughter Patti to let me know that Joe passed away at the Ohio Veteran's Home in Georgetown, Ohio. Joe had been doing well despite being on oxygen and confined to a wheelchair. He apparently took a turn for the worse over the week leading to his passing.

I will post more details shortly... Patti tells me the obituary will be in the Columbus Dispatch and thought any carvers who knew her Dad would appreciate it as it (the obit)was a bit "diferent." I reminded her that her Dad was a bit different, and we had a chuckle about that.

She especially wanted to get word to Roger Barton and Bob Sutton, so I told her I would post the news of his passing here. Joe could be a curmudgeon, but those of us who knew him and his late wife Jeannie understood that there could be a heart of gold under that gruff exterior. When a fellow Carver was in need (Nelson Thomas, Lem Ward) Joe was at the forefront to raise support and help out. We have lost a giant in the carving world."

I would like to inquire about the whereabouts of the couple Nelson and Phyllis Thomas (ODCCA--History) They are mentioned at this site as having been part of the original founding members of the ODCCA. I own several miniature duck decoys carved by them and hope to find out if they are still carving these small size decoys. Any help would be appreciated.
