Default Gene Calvetti; Hurley, WI

Gene passed away over tHis weekend after a hard fight with cancer. Gene was not a great carver, but he was a GOOD carver, a good friend, and a long time member of the GOGEBIC RANGE WOODCARVERS ASSOCIATION.

Although he carved a vast array of subjects, his favorites were always relief carvings of wildlife and woodland scenes. Most, if not all of these were done for friends and relatives. He was a student of Fred and Elaine Stenman's relief work every chance he got and truly enjoyed his time spent in their seminars.

Gene was a true gentleman, and could be spotted in a crowd by his tan or tweed fedora, which he always tipped to the ladies and removed when the flag passed.

We are all sorry to bid goodbye to another one of "The Good Guys"! Our prayers go with him and his family.

Al

Al,
I did not know him, but it sounds like he was a friend to you. I am so sorry for your loss. It is always a tough deal of the cards.
I will say a little prayer and keep you in my thoughts.
Take care,
Jim

Al, I didn't know the man either, but do know a little of the loss of a friend. You will be in my prayers also. God Bless
