Gary D. Mulvane, 58, of Bellevue passed away Monday, June 1, 2009, at his residence. He was born June 6, 1950, in Willard, a son of the late Merilyn C. & Ruth (Cole) Mulvane. Gary was a master woodcarver and a former rural route carrier for The Bellevue Gazette. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Greenwich, an honorary member of the Wood Carvers Den and enjoyed gardening and flowers. Survivors include his wife, Linda (Thornsberry) Mulvane, whom he married Sept. 26, 1970; son, Keith D. Mulvane of Bellevue; daughters, Michelle A. (Peter J. Jr.) Peterson of Monroeville and Melody (Jason T.) Newsom of Clyde; grandchildren, Morgan and Matthew Peterson, Allidrea Mulvane and Noah Newsom; brothers, Arden Mulvane of Plymouth, Wendell Mulvane of Sandusky, C.L. Mulvane of Bloomville and Junior Mulvane of Shelby; sisters, Evelyn Evans of Bellevue and Bonnie Trimble of Bloomville. In addition to his parents; brothers, Howard and Edward Mulvane; his sister, Grace Uzenhoffhis; and grandchildren, Jeremy Newsom, Hunter Newsom and Donna Newsom, preceded him in death. Friends will be received 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Foos and Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue, where the funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memory Gardens, Clyde.

Some of you may remember Gary from the Mansfield Johney Appleseed Show. He took up a whole corner, looked like a hole craft store, Gary was always on the side handing out carvings to kids and knives to carvers. He was a very happy and personable fellow and I will miss his smile and talent. Thanks for reading this, Doug

Doug, I didn't know Gary, but he definitely sounds like the kind of guy it would be an honor to know. Sorry for the loss of your friend and fellow carver. Mark |

Hey Doug, Sorry to hear this. Definitely too young to go. He's probably got his carving shop all set up in Heaven as I type this. |
