Default ean evans/lynyrd skynyrd/bassiest dies

sorry to have to announce the death of ean evans the bass player for southern rock legends lynyrd skynyrd. ean was from our town and with me being a singer in a local southern rock and blues band for 10 years i did have a chance to know ean some. both before and after he joined skynyrd. he was a very humble and kind man and we hate to hear of his passing. he fought a brave fight against the big "c" but he has gone on to join a great jam band now, fly on free bird .

Yes Mike, Free as a bird. Sorry to hear of his passing. Had a chance to attend a LS concert in Tulsa with my son. One of the best.

ean was a great guitarist as well as bass player, and was just a wonderful guy,he remained till the end just a humble and grateful man strong in faith.i remember seeing ean playing in bands around here in the late 70's and early 80's and then years later when i met him after i formed a band,it was a trip to meet him and get to know him. i remember very well when he was getting ready to try out for skynyrd, he was trying to locate a copy of the latest skynyrd album, cause they said learn about all of these songs and a list of others,we had band practice that night and we all were trying franticlly to find him a copy, our lead guitarist had one and we were like cool we can get ya hooked up!!! he was a good guy when ya saw him on the street here he always would stop and talk it never was a bother, real down to earth.

Daddio, the world has lost a great musican.I'm sorry for the loss of your friend. He's making sweet music with the angels in Heaven now. Thanks for letting us know.Lynyrd Skynyrd is part of the background music of my life and memories.Especially my late teens and early twenties. Sad news it is.
