| | The carving community lost another fine carver. Friday, Feb. 2, 2007, Mel Moose of Maiden, NC, passed away today at 2 pm.
Mel had carved most of his life since his military days. Mel started the local woodcarving club and also taught woodcarving at the local cmmunity college. for years.
He was a good friend and a great person and carver and will be greatly missed.

As Brent mentioned, Mel was instrumental in establishing the Catawba Valley Woodcarvers Club in Hickory, NC. He also played a large part in promoting the art of woodcarving in the community by teaching classes locally. He will be greatly missed. |
