What you carve will be limited by your imagination.

IMO, books and tutorials are nice, but in-person, flesh-and-blood, one-on-one lessons are the way to go. Find an instructor (or any experienced carver) in your area. An instructor can help you through trouble spots you will most assuredly encounter.

But _do_ get as many books as you can get your hands on...

Well, I received my wood last night, now waiting for the tools. I am itching to give it a go. Hopefully they will arrive today.

The tools arrived yesterday, great little set for a great price. Just getting the feel of them and a little knife work on some wood. Will post pictures in one of the other areas when I have something that resembles some type of carving.
