Default A 'wannabe' carver

Hi. This is pretty much my first post on this system. I have been reading a lot of your posts and enjoying them very much. I don't know that I have a lot of talent for carving but I really love it.

Thanks to BobD for helping me make this post and also to BobT for mailing me the DVD on Gene Messer's Youtube videos.

Thanks to Gene Messer for making the videos. I am sure I will enjoy them.

Welcome Carole, and you certainly have the talent. Just practice and have fun doing it, and all will be good.

Hi there Carole, Sarnia eh! Too bad you're not closer, I'm in Dunnville, I guess that would be about 3 hours from you. Too bad, cause I'm such a wonderful fella, handsome, well built, extremely wealthy, and dang, I forgot to mention, married for 54 years to the same woman. Oh well,
I see you ordered Genes Video, I just rec'd my copy yesterday and it's excellent, several projects, well explained and great pictures, it will be an excellent help to a new carver. If you have any questions, I'll be glad to help you along the way. I myself have only been carving less than a year and I'm having a ball. Every one on here will answer any questions, There are some really great people on here.
Best of luck, one thing for sure, wear a protective glove and a thumb gaurd for safety.
Cliff

Thanks. I am working on a rose right now. I haven't felt like my carving is quite good enough for photos yet but I am working on it. Thanks again
