Dewey,
You've raised the bar for for those out there struggling to do cane designs! Wow. I printed off your pictures as I'm looking for ideas for designs. I'm in the middle of doing a cane - first attempt.

Thanks for all the nice comments. I really haven't shown my carvings much, just family and friends. Hope to sell some eventually. Check out my photo album, Deweyrf.

Dewey, exceptional work. I love your use of immagination and detail, they make for a first rate "icebreaker" Wonderful carving, I am very impressed. Welcome to the gang by the way, I can see that you are going to fit right in around here!

Thanks Bob! I appreciate the comments. I see you make ship models. Always wanted to try that. I am very interested in carving sticks with nautical themes. I looked a long time for books on actual ship carvings, frontpieces or figureheads. Someday I'll make it down to Mystic Seaport to their museum.

Hi Bob, yes I managed to aquire several books on figureheads and ship carvings. Do you have any favorites though? I know mystic seaport in Connecticut supposedly has a very nice exhibit of figureheads. I want to make it down there sometime soon.
