Default Thought I would join the FUN
Boy Scout Woodcarvers rekindled a desire to use my knife after I retired some 24 years ago. After volunteering at our Scout Camp & The National Boy Scout Jamboree[4 times, hope to go in 2010],I learned carving from several Master Carvers; They may recognize me by the name one of them gave me. I am still learning!!
I have progressed to the point where I feel very confident in teaching Basic Woodcarving to adults & children ,11 years up. 6-7000 people have been through my classes, at least 4 are now Master Carvers, their work is far above mine!!.
All this is to emphasize the rewards & fun you can have serving others, look at all the friends I have!!
Since this my first message ,i was at a loss on what to say, so if I bored you please forgive, i will try to do better. Keep the chips falling!! Mr.Ed. [ that's the way my Scout buddies know me ]

Thanks for being a part of the Scouts! It is an awesome program for kids. My two oldest boys are in scouts now and it takes a special person to keep these bundles of energy on task.

Welcome, Mr. Ed. I also honed some of my carving skills during ten years as a Scoutmaster. While the boys did the camp chores, I would whittle neckerchief slides.

Over the past several years I've been able to learn from; work beside and be inspired by Mr Ed. Most importantly I'm honored to call him a friend.

He will be a great addition to this online community.
