Default From scrollsaw to power chiseler

Hi all. I finally got tired of drilling holes and taking blades in and out. I saw the Arbortech power chisel on the DIY Cool Tools program and decided to try another adventure in wood. Mine's on the way now and I'm going to try some of the patterns I have for scroll sawing and see If I can make them into 3-d. I should get the power chisel in a week or so and then we shall see if a scroll sawer can make the transition.

Welcome Harris, know what you mean about drilling holes and taking blades in and out. I just started scrolling, the folks over in the ScrollSaw forum are doing some wonderful work.
I have a power chisel with about 6 different chisel's and gouges and I love it for taking out wood fast when I do relief carving. The Arbortech products look really nice and I'm sure you'll enjoy using yours.

Hello and welcome, Harris. It's nice to have you here. I know for sure you'll be able to hop over to carving, afterall, it's not that big a leap from removing unwanted wood from one way to the other.

A belated welcome, Harris,
I think you'll be able to make the transition nicely, as well. It's not unusual for carvers to take scroll saw patterns to use for relief carving projects. Heck, kids' coloring books pictures even make great relief patterns and ideas for in-the-round carving projects.

Let us know how the transition goes. Instead of changing blades in your scroll saw, you pick up different hand tools (blades) for centain areas of your carving.
