I put my hope to you in the states! Hi there!
As a new member I hope that you will be able to help me...
I'm a swedish guy looking for carvings that my grandfather made in between the 50:th to the late 70:s in the north of Sweden (Lapland area)
I know that he sold quite a number of these carvings to american tourists that went by train between Sweden and Norway.
So my humble question to you is... do you know of any of his sculptures that went over sea?
If so, please let me know!
I'm first of all trying to get photos of as many as possible. But if anyone is willing to sell one, please get in contact with me!!!
I will try to post a photo of two of his works.
It's always showing lappish people or animals, carved out of birch, a little bit ruff texture and treated with linen oil.
They are marked (carved) with the signature BJ at the bottom.
If you got any questions or maby a good idea for me to enhance my search in the states, just let me know.
Many thanks in advance
