To Patrick & others who took time to Welcome me here.
Thank you for such quick response & look forward to learning & sharing with fellow carvers. I go to my first gathering (told it is not a "meeting") of carvers who meet the 1st & 3rd Tuesday each month for the fun of carving. Am anxious to attend as it as been difficult to find any local carvers here in or near Glade Spring, Va.
MY move before & after getting to Va. has taken much of my time but look forward to getting time for the fun stuff. Wood spirits & caricature carving is what I like but love the art of it all! Will share a photo soon.
Thanks again.
Phil

Phil,
Welcome to the board. Glad you found some locals to get together with and carve. That's a great way to learn and have fun, too.

Let us know what you like to carve and how we can help you.

Hi Donna
Thank you for your msg. Tonite is my 1st "nite out" to meet with a new group to do nothing but carve. I will do a show & tell but anxious to see what the others work on. Went to Smoky Mtn Woodcarvers Supply, for the 1st time and about 170 miles away(this is the closest one I know of to me). Nice people and fun to visit and see all the toys they have. It's a nice day trip for us and hope to do it often. Also meet Gene Webb, a carver from Townsend, Tn, (www.genewebbcarving.com). Might do a class with him in the spring.
I like to do caricatures and wood spirits. Since our move to VA., it's been hard to find time to carve but am getting excited now. This is my first msg board and is encouraging to me!
Phil
