I Didn't Know

I didn't know, a lot of things,
When I took my dog outside.
I didn't know that adventure waits,
Or that my dog would take me for a ride!

I didn't know, that there were rabbits four,
When I took my dog out of doors,
She spied them first and quickly lunged,
As I was trying to close the door!

I didn't know, how strong she was,
As she pulled me off the deck.
I didn't know a man could fly,
Or clear all steps without breaking his neck!

I didn't know, that a Husky's feet,
Are made for gripping wet and slippery grass.
I didn't know, than my own shoes weren't,
Till the grass bit me in the as*!

I didn't know, that rabbits took turns,
Confusing dogs with their numbers, running to and fro.
I didn't know, that crows could laugh,
While watching the crazy scene below!

I didn't know, how quick a dog could turn,
And trample you sitting in her way.
I didn't know, how determined she'd be,
Or lengths she'd take to get at her prey!

I didn't know, an arm could bend,
Stretch and pop and make that sound.
I didn't know, a lot of things ,
That morning while prone on the wet ground!

When his husky started the rumble
Over four rabbits she did stumble
Leaving him only able to mumble

our friend begins to mope
about the pain of sliding down the slope
so he hangs on without the slightest hope
and thinks of his dog with the "dope on a rope"!

In dog speak:
Woof!

In rabbit speak:
Ehhh--what's up Doc?

In dog speak:
Woof!

In rabbit speak:
Sheesh--what a maroon!

Clearly, rabbits are much smarter than dogs. But people--well, they're just along for the ride!

with just the witty words they've made!
Proves that a dog who met a hare
Would leave his master laying there!
Or lieing there, but to the point,
Bob's poor arm is out of joint!
Next time your huskie wants to run
I suggest you bring a gun,
Then when you return, you two
Will have some hassenfeffer stew!

Now I'm not to sure about that idea, Colin. Considering the pain and indignity that Bob has gone through to create his poetic work and our poetic chorus of replies could he and his huskie possibly survive an entire manuscript?

The big questions is....HOW IN THE WORLD ARE YOU, BOB??? Anything broken besides your pride? Life's little moments sure have a way of making us humans humble.
