Default Pendleton,Oregon

Hi All,
I have a friend who I have carved with for quite a few years. He just moved from California up to Pendleton, OR. He hasn't been able to locate any carving groups up there, so I thought I would try and help him out. He doesn't have internet access yet so if anyone can help me out with information on local groups, I'll send it up to him. I know he'd feel much more at home with a group of carvers.
Thanks
Christine

Christine... Either look up to the left of your screen and click on "CLUB SEARCH" or click on the following link to get a list of clubs in Oregon.

I tried your suggestion and still couldn't find any clubs in Pendleton. What did you google?
Thanks for helping.

Christine,

You could check with the "Pendleton Center for the arts".
The have classes in various arts & crafts.

Also check the senior centers, they may have carvers.

I am not aware of any local groups in Pendleton, but Milton-Freewater (about 30 minutes away) has several carvers.

You just missed their carving show, it was around the 21st of July.

I have several sharpening customers from Milton-Freewater; sorry I can't share customer names or phone numbers.

Welcome! I hope your friend finds a group. The Walla Walla one sounds like a good lead. I am originally from eastern Washington and know that the drive from Pendleton to Walla Walla is not bad at all.
I will be retiring back to eastern WA and will also have to travel to find carving groups. We have been researching that. That fact is the reason I am learning to carve now while we are still close to Denver and a very good teaching group.
A fact of life in eastern WA is that you have to travel to get to a lot of things you need, although that is better than it was 20 years ago. I still will choose that over the wet side of WA. (I went to high school in Seattle, then lived at the ocean for several years. I now have severe mold allergies! LOL)
Anne, who is about to leave this morning for carving club meeting!

Christine,

I was born and raised about 30 min from Pendleton. Finding a carving group or supplies for that matter may prove difficult. Now it's been a few years since I lived there and some things may have changed. Good luck and if you find anything please post about it I would be interested.

Hope he is prepared for the round-up.
