Hi, there --

I'm a new member, but have been carving around 25 years. I love seeing the work of other carvers and sharing ideas, and this forum seems a good way to find more inspiration. I carve mostly decoys, both miniature and lifesize, but also other bird sculptures, have done a few Santa Clauses and am interested in other figures, and just getting interested in carving mammals. I live in Portland, Oregon, have lived in Alaska and Washington, and find Nature a wonderful source of ideas and inspiration in the Pacific Northwest. Anyone interested in getting acquainted, please feel free to contact me at pdxnate@isp.com -- I'm always interested in making new friendships and meeting new people via e-mail. Sharing ideas, technical advice, and mutual inspiration are all good reasons to get acquainted. Would love to hear from anyone, anywhere, who shares a love of woodcarving and the need to create. Keep the chips flying!

Nate

Nate, This thread did not show earlier because it was not "approved". New members' posts with links do not show up until approval - it's a way to control spam.

Anyway, welcome aboard. I have a couple of relatives in Portland (well, my wife does)....beautiful place.
