Welcome Glenda, it's nice to have you on the board. I can't offer advice on antique dolls but it sounds like a fun thing to do. I am a new carver also and this is a wonderful place to learn.. EVERYONE is so very helpful.. Carvers are a great group of helping friends.. Charlotte

Want to thank Bob (squbrigg - Is this some kind of a boat?), tnartist05, and Ashbys for the welcome.

Bart, Found the name of the book written by Tom Wolfe through Google. His wife's name is Nancy and the name of the book they wrote is "Country Dollmaking." It looks like a book I'ld really like to get.

Greg, I went to the Heineke Wood site. I haven't ordered any wood yet but an planning on ordering some to practice on.

Bob, I'ld rather be carving. Thanks for the information about the Hitty dolls. I tried but it seems were I went it was more about the books then about the dolls. Going to try again though when I have more time.

Lynn O. Doughty, It's nice to get several good recommendations for one person. Especially from people who are using the products they sell. I found the "Little Shavers" site interesting and I will definitely be going back there and asking for Rick. Thanks.

Thanks, Charlotte, I will be looking into your website too. From your name I'm thinking you carve Santas. Love Santa.

Carving,
Glenda
