| | Not sure I know what I'm doing! First time I've been in a chat room - and not sure I can figure all this out, but here goes - I started carving about a year and a half ago intending to carve fish - started the fish ... never finished the fish! I've been doing mostly caricatures, some Santas, some birds and some woodburning - trying my hand at whatever I can learn. I belong to a local club and we have great classes - plus I carve one night a week with some club members.
I posted a question a little while ago and hope to get some good feedback. Since I'm not the computer person in the house, most likely my wife will be checking on it for me - gotta carve, not surf! |

| | Re: Not sure I know what I'm doing! Fred, I am about to give the forum a real testimonial. Two weeks after I bought my first carving knife, I stumbled onto this forum. And it wasn't very long before that date that my kids bought me a computer. Since I've been retired so long, I never used a computer at work. In fact, I don't think Al Gore had invented the internet yet. So, you see, participating in the forum has taught me some computer skills as well as helped me improve my carving. Oh and made some great friends too. I am sure glad you're here - enjoy - and ask questions if you need too. As Thomp says, "help is just a click away".
