Default Noob from Manchester UK

Hey Guys n Gals,

Just signed up so thought I would say hello!

My main passion is forging blades, I specialise in patternwelded (damascus) stuff mostly, with a growing interest in Japanese style blades. At the moment im having an 'angle saxon' phase, and trying to graduate onto putting some handles onto some 'auld' style pieces, hence the sudden interest in woodcarving

Im hoping to be able to pick up a few hints and tricks to help me with the celtic style knotwork etc (ive bought a couple of books on drawing the stuff, and bought a few sets of small 'elcheapo' chisels from epay, so im rareing to give it a try now!

Ive got a few unsuspecting lumps of bog oak to have a try on,

Anyhoo, Sure ill have lots of dumb questions!!!

Welcome to the forum! I'm not sure what bog oak is like, but if you get discouraged with it, try some limewood instead. Have fun!
