Default Niagara Falls Ontario Carver

Hello everyone
I am returning to carving after a 10 year layoff due to health reasons.
I still consider myself a beginner and I have most of Ron Ransom's Santa books. I am retired now and want to hone my carving skills. I am attaching a few samples of my work.

Hello and welcome, Doug. It's nice to have you here. I'm glad to hear you're getting back into it. You won't have far to go to hone those skills with these nice carvings.

Hey there Doug, dang, nice to meet some one close to me. I'm over in Dunnville, maybe we can hook up sometime. I like your santas very much.

Welcome,
Glad you're back to carving! It's very therapeutic and relaxing. I started making Santas with Ransom's patterns and made several of the goose one. Seeing it brought back memories! Thanks for sharing and good luck with the carving...looks like you're picking it quickly.

When I was just starting, I like to carve the same pattern several times, at least, just to see if I could improve on it with the repeat. I've got three kids, so they like it when I made 3-4 of the same thing so I could keep one and give each of them one!
