. My basic problem which most probably cannot be answered by you I 'm afraid, is the equivalent carvable woods in this part of the world.
Although I fought hard with dictionaries (from english to greek to hungarian) and wikipedia to figure out what is cottonwood etc is, still I 'm not sure if the same tree in central Europe is as hard or as soft as in US or Canada. In certain cases I read that the wood must be fresh (which now I think is wrong) in other cases that it better be oven than air-dried (no idea how to do that). I tried with pinewood (it was the easiest to get hold on to) but the "nerves" or whatever else is called, of that wood are quite stubborn

and not easy to discipline
