Hi All, I have discovered woodcarving a few months ago and still fighting with my first piece. Please wish me luck. I love WoodSpirits and Whimsical Houses. I am a huge admirer of Darwin Dower but also of Rick Jensen and Tom Wolfe and many many other excellent woodcarvers. Please don't ignore me because I am still new.......

Don't give up the fight! And don't be afraid to start the second one either.

Look foward to having you on the board.

Well howdy, and welcome--no body gets ignored around here. Speaking for myself I struggled with my first carving--heck most of my carvings come to think of it. You'll find everyone very helpful.

I am new to woodcarving too and can relate to struggling. It gets easier and more fun as you keep going. Also you may be surprised how good your project looks when you get finished. There is a lot of good advice here. Welcome.
