Smile Newbie here!

Hi y'all! I'm new here! Love the work I have been looking at! Very talented people here!

I'm from Gun Barrel City, Texas. Yes, it really is a town. LOL

I am very new to wood carving. I have always loved working with wood. I have been doing pyrography (woodburning) for the past year. If you want to see some of my work you can check it out here Ravenwolfart.com

I like to use my dremel to carve and as my husband says..."distress the wood till it doesn't know what it is" lol I'm still learning and playing! I like to use wood such as branches and logs I find on and around our property.

Sometimes I just pick up a branch and start up the dremel and see what is revealed beneath the bark before I even decide what to do with it.

I just love to try new things with wood and thought this was a cool place to learn some techniques and hang out with others that love to work with wood.

Hello Ravenwolf, welcome to the group. I'm typically a hand carver but I have picked up a dremel on occasion to do detailed work on very hard wood. Show us your work when your ready.

Thanks for the welcome! I posted two of the rings I have recently carved from ash. I love making them! I really want to do more whimscal carving such as gnomes, gnome homes and tree folk! I am still trying to get used to navigating and posting stuff here so bare with me. I plan to rip into some new wood I have found tomorrow (no clue what it is). No telling what I will make or ends up in the firewood!

Hi Tia, welcome to the WCI Board, you sure found a great place to be. Tons of people on here so if ya can't find an answer posted, post a question someone will answer it, most likely about 20 people will answer, lol.
