Welcome to the funhouse. This site is fantastic. Actually, Fox Chapel does a great job running it but it's the people who make it what it is.
I went to your site, great paintings!

| | Re: Newbie Checking-In Hi Kathy, WELCOME! What beautiful work you do!! I think you are going to love woodcarving!! I'm totally addicted to it!!
I've drawn and painted since childhood, my paintings though, always left something to be desired (unlike yours, which are wonderful!!). I've found what was missing in them, dimension, I've decided I am a dimensional artist. I love carving and painting what I can dream up, it's the best of all worlds for me!! I get to sketch (a true love), carve (my truest love) and paint (also a true love)! Life can be so terrific!!
Oh, you may have noticed....I'm a person of little enthusiasm and fewer words! Welcome again, it's great to have you with us!! Callynne |

| | Re: Newbie Checking-In Bob: Thank you, for the welcome aboard and you are right I'm seeing some wonderful work on this site. I love the way everyone is eager to help each other cuddo's to you all. Ash: Thank you, LOL funny your snow painting reminds me of one I did too--I think yours is better. I like your yellow happy face with the purple spikes--shows you know your complimentry colors. tee hee mikeg: Thank you too, and you are right it is the people who make this site, but without the site there would be no people. Thank goodness there is both! Callynne: Thank you, I think a big thing in art no matter what medium you chose is a lot of the things you mentioned. Sounds like you have them all and I like your enthusiasm don't ever give it up. I started working in clay because I was flustrated. I couldn't get the flat work to say what I could say in 3D. I love being able to protray my vision in different mediums never bord! Ron: Thank you, I appreciate the welcome I need to spend some time finding my way around this site. So much to see and information to obsorb!
Thanks again everyone for the very warm welcome! |

| | Re: Newbie Checking-In I know we're trying to keep the scrollers away from the carvers (LOL) but Pyrographer Cheryl Dow contributed an article for SSW on scrolling and burning a gourd in the last issue...
By the way, Kathy, Welcome Aboard!
