Default Newbie to carving but not wood

I am a carving newbie thought I have been doing scrollsaw, turning and other forms of wood working for many years. At this point I am not planning to sell all my other tools in favor of a block of basswood, carving bench and a box full of knives.

I would like to learn to carve love spoons and maybe a few simple figures. I own a couple books and a pair of flexcut knives but I know reading will never replace doing hands on work. Any and all help will be appreciated.

BTW I live in NC.

Scott

Hello and welcome, Scott. It's nice to have you here with us. I agree, don't abandon your scroll work. You can incorporate both into your new projects.

Hi Scott, welcome to the group! I also agree, don't abandon your wood turning, I love to turn things on my Jet mini lathe.
Have fun and let the chips fly!
Bob
