Default newbie from Arkansas

hi- brand new to woodcarving, but have thought about it for some time. and there is no time like the present. I consider myself more artsy-fartsy than artistic , but think that I may find a nitch in woodcarving.

Are there any woodcarving instructors in Arkansas around the center of the state? and where to go to find wood to carve?

Any help would be appreciated.

Hello, sorry I can't help you with your query, but I sure can welcome you WELCOME. Here is a thought check on this site Wood Carving Illustrated - How To Magazine for Carvers for clubs in your state. If you can make contact with a club they can be very helpful in finding instructors.

I think there are a lot of really good carvers in Arkansas...should be easy to find a club..............check with the closest Woodcraft Store...or go google "Colwood" the woodburner people used to have a list of clubs nationwide I think.
