Welcome Dixie someone after my own heart. Tools are to me like diamonds are to women I cant get enough. Unfortunatly you are now addicted and the addiction gets worse. I own so many carvings tools expecially carving knifes I can never get enough and yes I use everyone of them.

For my wife, it's sapphires--green sapphires...

Maybe I'll get her some sapphire carving burrs for Christmas <grin>

Hey Dixie, welcome to WCI and already you have noticed what a terrific helpful group of folks we have in these forums. I very new to woodcarving and woodburning I don't have that many carving tools either. But I have found that a few good tools can do the job.

LOL Bob, unless your wife is a carver too, you'd better have a backup plan.

you will find a lot of help on this board. only help I can give is to learn to sharpen your knives, a dull knife will cut you , and make you not want to carve because you can't cut the detail you want with a dull knife. look under "little shavers" then double click on sharping you will get a host of information on a lot of stuff . welcome aboard.

Just old Jim
